Is anybody out there as ready for summer as I am? With the holidays now over, I have tired of the cold, dreary weather. I am now looking forward to sunshine and warm days! I do not want to ever wish my life away; I am thankful for each day. But....I do long for the newness of spring and the simple joys of summer. So, what does summer mean to me?
No school
Fresh flowers
Warm nights sitting on the porch swing
Hot days at the lake
Boat rides
Feeling a nice breeze, and welcoming it
Hearing the crickets and frogs
Lazy weekends with family
Sitting on the island feeling the water wash up on my toes
Listening to the waves crash on the beach
Fish fries
A slower pace
No homework
The smell of sunscreen
Tanned bodies
Hot dogs
Cold beer
Tank tops
Flip flops
So for now, I will anxiously look forward to all of these things!
