So, here I sit. Thinking about how I should be studying for an upcoming exam on Ancient Rome. Thinking about how I really need a job. Thinking about how I should go run my three miles. Thinking that Eleanor needs to be brushed. Thinking about actually doing something rather than just thinking about doing something. Is it just me?

Possibility & Opportunity, words that have been on my mind lately.

possibility- the state or fact of being possible; chance, prospect, likelihood, odds

opportunity- a situation or condition favorable for attainment of a goal; a good position, chance, or prospect, as for advancement or success

I would like the opportunity to make something possible, I just need a push!

Thank you

No, it's not hard to do really. If you think about it there are always things to be thankful for in a day. Yes, it's easy to get carried away and harp on the negative things in a day (lord knows there are always those too!) But a challenge for today and the days ahead: find the things to say thank you for.
Thank you...
to the person who lets you in traffic
to the person who smiles at you as you pass
to the person who holds the door open for you
to the person who gives you a "pat on the back"
to the person who brings you coffee in the mornings
to the person who works so you will have a place to live
to the person who gives their time just to listen

and may your (and my) list get longer and longer!

Good, "clean", fun

Yes, this is what your boys come home looking like when they are sent out to entertain themselves. In the "country". With 4 wheelers. In the mud. And yes, they did have to hose off behind the barn with cold well water. And yes, I did attempt to wash those clothes...but they will never be the same again. Does all of this add stress to my life? Not at all. At least I know where they are and what they are doing, even if it's not all good, "clean", fun!

Life is Good

Well, here we are in the middle of another summer that is going by way too fast. I have been enjoying the lazy days and trips to the lake. I would love to say I've enjoyed having the boys around more often, but they haven't been home very much. I know they are having a great time with their friends! But, last night was one of those evenings when the stars aligned just right...Everyone was at home together, we shared a lovely meal (with no one jumping up to do something else), and had some interesting and fun conversations. After supper, we sat on the porch just "watching it get dark" and the boys joined us for that also (without having to be bribed with anything!). Yes, I would have to say that life is good...and it really is the simple things that make it so.

friends

There are two groups of people who are very special to me, friends and family. I'm sure most people would agree with me. Family are those who are always there, kinda because they have to be. But friends, on the other hand, are most likely "around" or in your life because you choose for them to be. One group is no more special than the other, just special in different ways. And yes, I know I am rambling. Anyway, I happen to be blessed with wonderful family and friends. And I just wanted to acknowledge it!

Happy List

Ok, I am staring at the screen waiting for some topic to pop into my mind... Since nothing seems to be happening I'll just make a list. Not very enlightening, but oh well.

Things that make me happy: (not in any particular order)
--people (with the exception of the stupid ones)
--food
--fresh sheets
--elipses
--sunsets
--the lake (eufaula, of course)
--jeans
--pictures
--books
--backrubs
--music
--accomplishments
--good hair days
--good conversation

Just a few of the things that make me happy. I'm off to school now!

Ranting

In light of recent events in the media, I would like to question our legal system.
Why do criminals have so many rights? Why do we bargain with them?
When someone strategically kidnaps and brutally kills another person, their rights should end right there! There should be no "bargaining" with a killer! I just don't get it....
